Southeast Concrete Alliance Network
The 2010 SCAN Conference has
been cancelled due to the severe travel restrictions for state DOT
Employees as a result of the budget problems facing the DOTs.
Without participation by our DOT partners it would have made it
difficult to have a successful conference.
The
SCAN awards program is still active
and everyone is encouraged to submit projects for consideration for
a SCAN award.
You may also
download presentation from previous SCAN conferences.
What is SCAN?
The Southeast Concrete Alliance Network (SCAN) was formed in 2000 by
representatives of seven Southeastern State DOTs, FHWA, and Industry
Representatives for the specific purpose of working together to
improve concrete pavement performance and durability in a
cost-effective manner. Specific objectives are to
- provide a regional forum for PCC pavement
technology sharing,
- encourage development of uniform
specifications and best practices,
- promote research and technology,
- encourage implementation of innovative
construction practices and designs
SCAN's Vision
To continuously improve concrete pavement
performance and durability in a cost effective manner.
SCAN’s Objective:
To create a technical environment and a
network of public and private organizations working together to
achieve quality concrete pavements that satisfy the needs and
expectations of the motoring public.
Annual Southeast
Concrete Pavement Conference
This conference is organized annually by SCAN to fulfill its mission
of technology sharing and implementation of new practices and
innovations in PCC pavements. This conference is of value to State
and Federal DOT engineers, contractors, consultants, suppliers,
academia and others involved with the design and construction of
concrete pavements.
Why Should You Attend?
The conference is a unique opportunity in the southeast to learn
about the latest technology, have informal discussions with
contractors, DOT engineers, and suppliers and find out about what is
going on in other states. Two of the unique features of this
conference are the reports made on current and future concrete
pavement activities in each state by a DOT representative and the
contractor's panel
